What can pet carers, pet owners and their beloved pets expect during each service?
You should use these standards as a guideline and the pet carers are welcome to agree with pet owners alternative arrangements.
Pet owners can expect
- At least one image update per day or visit to the house.
- Keeping in touch with owners about any changes of the pet and, where appropriate, bringing pets to a veterinarian if an owner consents.
Pets can expect
- To feed me as required
- Give access to fresh water
- I can use the toilet regularly
- Get my prescribed medication (but non-injectables)
- I am cared for in a hygienic condition, all waste from me is disposed of
- Any signs of my illness or injury reported to my owner.
Pet carers can expect
- Owners disclose any behavioural problems with the pet.
- To avoid misunderstandings, the carer must write down any special requirements or instructions. Make sure you have a list of things to discuss during the Meet and Greet, as well as entry forms for written agreements.
- Adequate labelling of the medicine, correct dosing instructions and timing if necessary.
- Emergency contact details: person not travelling with the owner is provided.
- Where food is needed, right amount of food is available.
