I have always had a huge love for animals and have grown up caring for a variety of pets, including my childhood cat, Stan, and nine guinea pigs! At 20, I rescued a puppy in Hungary who grew into a Great Dane-sized dog by just nine months old. Sadly, he passed away at only a year old due to genetic complications, but caring for him taught me so much about the love, patience and responsibility that comes with owning a pet. During COVID, I regularly offered dog walking and pet sitting for people who were unable to leave their homes, helping ensure their pets were cared for, exercised and given plenty of attention. I currently work as an SEMH PE teacher, which has helped me develop a patient, calm and adaptable approach. I understand the importance of building trust, recognising individual needs and creating a safe, positive environment, all of which I believe are just as important when caring for animals. Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to have a pet of my own at the moment, but I would absolutely love the opportunity to spend more time around animals and give them the care, attention and affection they deserve. I would treat every pet as if they were my own, whether that means going on long walks, enjoying playtime, providing companionship or simply keeping them happy and comfortable in their usual routine while you’re away.
